At age 57, I've lost 22 pounds and four inches off my waist. You could grate cheese on my abs (not that I'm into that sort of kink).
But I didn't do lose weight to look pretty (did I tell you I'm 57?). This is just the first step in an extreme experiment: an attempt to get younger than I am.
This summer I'm hoping to run my age up a particular mountain trail in New Hampshire, reaching the summit in fewer minutes than I'm old in years. I'll test the latest research on nutrition, workouts, gear, sleep, medicine, alternative medicine, stretching...the whole gamut of health and fitness. And I'll show you what works and what doesn't. I'll be writing a blog and, eventually, a book.
